Employment Opportunities with Lion's Camp Hickory, Inc.


Professional staff receiving compensation from Lions Camp Hickory are considered as consultants and must submit an invoice detailing the professional services rendered. As a consultant to Lion's Camp Hickory you will be expected to attend planning meetings on a quarterly basis on the second Mondays of the month, 7:00pm in November, February, May, August and potentially special meetings convened by the Board of Directors. Fees and compensation will be negotiated with the individuals selected to fill these positions.

The day camp operates 2 weeks each year. Your talents will be specifically needed full time onsite during the diabetes day camp sessions scheduled for the weeks of July 9 through 13 and July 16 through 20, 2012. The day at camp runs 8:00am to 5:00pm but all staff are expected to be onsite 15 minutes prior to camper arrival and remain onsite until the last camper has been picked up.

The campers enjoy 3 meal periods each day: mid-morning snack, lunch and mid-afternoon snack. Depending on individual circumstance campers may also have a breakfast snack upon arrival. All staff are expected to dine onsite and enjoy the same meals/snacks the capers consume unless there are specific dietary restrictions which should be relayed to both the camp director and camp dietician.

Note: Assistant Program Director and Counselors and activity leaders are strictly volunteer.
