Cook's Helper


Responsible to: Cook and Camp Director

General Responsibility: Assist with preparation of the food for up to 4 periods each day

Specific Duties:
  1. Prepare food for meal/snack periods as directed by the Cook
  2. Assure sanitation in kitchen in accordance with Onondaga County Health Department regulations
  3. Advise Cook of any equipment or tools needed in the kitchen
  4. Assist in the preparation of up to 4 meal or snacks each day at camp (breakfast snack, mid-morning snack, lunch and mid-afternoon snack)
  5. Will work with fresh produce, frozen and fresh foods and pre-packaged foods. Cooking and baking are required
  6. Typical group to feed is 20 children and up to 20 adults
  7. Other duties as assigned by Cook

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Preferably a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Experience in children's camps or groups
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to schedule food preparation to rigid timelines
